GDD at Berkeley is an open community for students interested in any facet of game development: programming, art, music, writing, or project management. Members can join a Party, a small group led by a staff mentor that builds a complete game over one semester, take the club-run DeCal course, or compete in Bear Jams, a 45-hour game jam open to everyone. No prior experience is required to join.

Events They Host
Bear Jams
A 45-hour game jam held each semester, open to everyone including non-UC Berkeley students. Followed by a Stream Week where submitted games are played live, ending with a Showcase on Friday.
Semester Showcase
A semesterly showcase where finished games from DeCal teams and Parties are presented to the broader community.
Industry Speaker Events
Events where professionals working in the game industry speak to club members.
