Scholars of Finance is a national nonprofit with a UC Berkeley chapter focused on values-based leadership development for undergraduates interested in finance. Members go through a seven-week Leadership Development Program built around personal values, peer discussion, and character, plus programs on finance industry basics, recruiting with integrity, and internship prep. They also get 1:1 access to a mentorship network of finance professionals from firms like Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, and Morgan Stanley.

Events They Host
Speaker Series
Each chapter hosts at least 6 speaker series events per semester. Speakers are finance professionals who share their values and career experiences in a fireside chat and open Q&A format, held in person or over Zoom.
National Speaker Series
Events put on by SOF's national team featuring prominent figures from the finance industry.
Leadership Conferences
Annual regional conferences bringing together students and professionals for panel discussions and keynote speeches focused on values-based leadership in finance.
Leadership Symposium
Annual symposium featuring a keynote from a values-based leader in finance; Minneapolis hosted its Fifth Annual Symposium as of FY 2018.
Principles Workshops
Each chapter holds at least 6 workshops per year focused on practical application of SOF principles through activities and case studies.
Technical Workshops / Corporate Partner Events
Each chapter holds at least 6 technical workshops or corporate partner events per year to help members succeed in the finance industry.
Member Experiences
Leadership Development Program (LDP) Cohort Sessions
Seven-week program for new members involving weekly student-led discussion sessions on personal values, stewardship, and principled leadership.
LDP Graduation
Culminating session of the 7-week LDP where members commit to a growth plan and officially graduate from the program.
1:1 Mentorship Meetings
Members are matched with and introduced to finance professionals through the Mentorship Network for 1:1 coaching sessions.
