Berkeley Women in Business (BWIB) empowers future business leaders through leadership development and discourse about gender equity in the workforce. Open to all majors and all genders, members attend weekly meetings, panels, and networking events with corporate sponsors. Deeper involvement comes through one of 7 committees covering areas like Corporate Relations, Community Development, and DEI. Signature events include a fall case competition and a spring Women in the Workforce Conference featuring C-suite speakers.

Events They Host
Equity Fluent Leadership Case Competition
Annual fall case competition co-hosted with the Berkeley Haas Center for Equity, Gender, and Leadership (EGAL). Open to undergraduate students; participants tackle DEI challenges in teams. The 7th annual competition (Fall 2025) drew over 100 students across 42 teams. Winning recommendations have been taken back to EGAL for implementation.
Women in the Workforce Conference
Annual spring conference featuring C-suite members, managing directors, vice presidents, and entrepreneurs from companies such as PepsiCo, Boston Consulting Group, Best Buy, Zendesk, BlackRock, and Gap Inc. Includes speaker sessions and hands-on workshops focused on women's empowerment in the workplace.
Panels
Several panels per semester on varied topics, featuring alumni, company representatives, and Haas MBA students. Includes Q&A sessions. Past panels have included a Haas MBA Women Panel.
Stock Pitch / ESG Case Competition (with Wells Fargo)
BWIB partnered with Wells Fargo to host a pitch competition based on an ESG case study. Members presented findings on the growing importance of Environmental Social Governance.
Corporate Networking Events (weekly)
Tuesday and Thursday corporate-facing events throughout each semester organized by the Corporate Relations committee, including workshops, panels, and networking sessions with companies such as Goldman Sachs, Gap Inc. Accenture, P&G, Altamont Capital Partners, and Flowtraders.
Member Experiences
Semester Retreat
Held each semester at off-campus locations. Past retreats include Casa Del Mar (Spring 2025), Santa Cruz (Spring 2024), and Smartsville (Fall 2024).
End-of-Semester Banquet
Held each semester. Past banquets include a boat party (Spring 2023) and a banquet dinner (Fall 2024).
Galentine's Day Social
Member social held in February each spring semester.

Fall semester member social. Includes a Big/Little Reveal.

Mentorship pairing reveal event held in the fall semester.
