The BAMPFA Student Committee is a student-run organization that connects UC Berkeley students with the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive and the broader Bay Area art scene. Members work within sub-committees to organize events, curate art and film exhibitions, publish zines, and write blog posts. The club also advocates for students' interests with museum staff and the Board of Trustees. Applications open each fall and spring semester.

Events They Host
BAMFEST
Annual spring art and music festival held on Crescent Lawn, featuring Bay Area student artists. Has been held in 2022, 2023, and 2025.
Student Film Festival
Annual festival screening student-made films from Berkeley and across the Bay Area, held in BAMPFA's Barbro Osher Theater. Includes a live Q&A with student filmmakers. Has been held in 2022 and 2025.
CineSpin
Screening of a film in BAMPFA's theater accompanied by a live musical score. Past editions have featured Alexander Dovzhenko's Zvenigora (2022) and other films. Has been held in 2022 and 2023.
Boo! at BAMPFA
Halloween-themed event held at BAMPFA. Most recent edition was October 20, 2023.
Five Tables: Pop-Up Exhibitions
Bi-annual student-curated exhibition drawn from the BAMPFA permanent collection, displayed on five art-viewing tables in the BAMPFA art study center. Past themes include 'Rebirth' (March 2023) and 'Higher and Higher' (March 2020). Currently on hiatus.
Fall Opening
Semester opening event welcoming students into the museum to celebrate a current BAMPFA exhibition. Past editions tied to 'Undoing Time: Art and Histories of Incarceration' (September 2022) and 'New Time: Art and Feminisms in the 21st Century' (September 2021).
Poster Pizza Palooza
Outreach event inviting new students to learn about BAMPFA, with free pizza and posters. Most recent edition was August 30, 2022.
