Cal Animage Alpha is UC Berkeley's anime club since 1989 and the flagship chapter of an international network of Cal Animage clubs. Members gather Tuesdays for weekly anime showings and Thursdays for social activities like trivia nights, drawing workshops, and karaoke. The club also publishes Konshuu, a newsletter featuring articles and illustrations on anime culture, and puts on larger events including an annual anime convention and a maid cafe.

Anime Destiny
Annual anime convention held at UC Berkeley featuring panels, artists, vendors, and performances. Held in the fall.
CAA Art Mart
Artist alley-style event on Upper Sproul where student and local artists sell artwork and merchandise. Free admission.
Maid Cafe
Annual maid cafe experience held in collaboration with a local shop. Maid Cafe 2026 is Sunday, April 26th, 1 PM to 7 PM at Plentea's Back Room, 2430 Durant Ave, Berkeley. Standard ticket is $8 in advance or $10 at the door, including admission, one Polaroid, and performances.
Weekly Anime Showings
Biweekly anime screenings on Tuesdays, open to all Cal students. Focus on titles unlikely to be released domestically.
Weekly Social Activities
Thursday events open to all, including trivia nights, Jeopardy, drawing workshops, and karaoke.
