Berkeley Innovation runs the Human-Centered Design DeCal, an 11-week introductory course in design theory and practice open to any Berkeley student regardless of major or prior experience. Students attend lectures, guest speakers, and hands-on activities covering research, synthesis, ideation, and visual design. Members complete two projects across the semester, building potential portfolio pieces while learning a design process applicable to engineering, biology, history, and beyond.
