CYAN: Coalition of Hindus of North America Youth Action Network

CYAN empowers young Hindus aged 18-35 to become effective advocates for their community. Members organize workshops, teach-ins, and grassroots campaigns on Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu bias, engage with lawmakers and policymakers on issues affecting Hindus, host speakers and scholars, and pursue research and writing around narratives on Hinduism and India. The Berkeley chapter connects students to a broader national network for advocacy, leadership, and community building.

Hinduphobia and Anti-Hindu Bias Workshops and Teach-ins
Workshops and grassroots campaigns on campuses in partnership with scholars, field experts, and institutions on topics related to Hinduphobia, bullying, and biases faced by Hindu students.
Public Policy Workshops and Conferences
Workshops, information sessions, and conferences on and off campuses to train students on getting involved in student government, public policy, administration, and related fields.
Speaker Tours and Talks
Hosting renowned speakers, scholars, and thinkers on and off campuses to speak on human rights and issues impacting Hindus.
CoHNA Advocacy Day at Capitol Hill
CYAN members presented Hinduphobia research statistics and met with lawmakers regarding HRes. 1131.
CoHNA Advocacy Day in New Jersey
Helped organize CoHNA's first Advocacy Day in New Jersey and urged lawmakers to support SCR104, which condemns Hinduphobia.
