Muslims in Academia at Berkeley is the UC Berkeley chapter of a global, student-led nonprofit that connects Muslim and allied students to research, mentorship, and academic community. The chapter hosts academic panels and discussions, connects students with mentors across disciplines, and promotes research pathways at Berkeley. It welcomes students of all backgrounds who share a commitment to curiosity, scholarship, and equitable knowledge exchange.

Navigating Academia: Muslim Experiences and Perspectives
An academic panel or discussion event hosted by the UC Berkeley chapter, focused on Muslim experiences and perspectives in academia.
Summer Reading Circle: Knowledge Transmission and Education in Muslim Contexts
A ten-week, discussion-based reading program running June through August 2026, meeting weekly for approximately 90 minutes. Affiliated with the Institute of Islamic Studies, University of Toronto. Includes a guest talk series with academics from OISE, Cambridge Muslim College, the University of South Australia, and the University of Cambridge. No prior expertise required.
Research Awareness Program sessions
Talks and workshops delivered at high schools, universities, and community spaces to introduce research, academic careers, and higher education pathways. Sessions adapt to the audience and include Q&A.
Academic Guest Talks
A recurring series bringing researchers, educators, and professionals into conversation with the broader MIA community across fields of study. Listed as coming soon.
