Fellows write research articles and member spotlights alongside the Chapter Editor and VP of Insights, building writing and analytical skills without client-facing project work.

GRC works exclusively with nonprofits and social impact organizations. Past clients have included AC Transit, SFMOMA, PATH, UNESCO, the World Bank, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, WWF, Wikipedia, and others. Projects span healthcare, education, environment, and equity.

What services do consultants actually provide to clients?

GRC offers strategic advisory, developing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems, data analysis, research projects, and building tech solutions. All engagements are pro-bono.

Accepted Answer

No. GRC at Berkeley is one chapter of a larger global nonprofit consultancy network (grcglobalgroup.com) that includes students from universities around the world.

What kinds of skills do consultants develop on projects?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the project. The AC Transit team, for example, needed ArcGIS, data scraping, web development, R, and ArcPy. More broadly, members develop critical research and analysis skills, and project managers get experience leading and sourcing their own projects.
