Kendo Club at Berkeley practices kendo, a Japanese martial art and sport derived from samurai sword training, following the methods and traditions of the International Kendo Federation. Group practices are taught by both a Sensei and student instructors, welcoming all experience levels. The club's motto, "克己心" (the spirit of overcoming oneself), reflects its goal of building discipline, integrity, and respect through rigorous training. Members also participate in tournaments and demo performances.
