The Historical Fencing Club of Berkeley reconstructs historical swordsmanship techniques using fully weighted sword replicas, protective equipment, and manuscripts written by fencing masters of old. Members work through a range of weapons including the longsword, cavalry saber, and rapier. Meetings combine guided practice to build skills with free sparring to test them. The club is free to join, open to all, and welcomes anyone curious about historical combat in a safe environment.
