Codify explicitly welcomes all passionate students and is committed to inclusivity. New members go through Codify Education, an introductory program that teaches full-stack engineering fundamentals using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS, before moving onto a live project team.

What does a typical week actually look like as a member?

Members dedicate 6-8 hours weekly across general meetings, weekly project team meetings, independent project work, and socials. They stay active on Discord and GitHub, committing code and submitting pull requests each sprint. Attendance at mandatory events like Orientation and General Meetings is required.

What kinds of projects do members work on?

Projects span full-stack web, mobile development, data analysis, and machine learning. Codify works with startups (past clients include MyShake, FlexDay, Homies, and Coni) and also builds its own internal tools. Projects can roll over across multiple semesters if still active.

Can my startup or organization work with Codify?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Codify takes on external partners each semester. Collaborations are handled case-by-case and start with a few onboarding meetings to align on vision, specs, and communication. A Project Lead meets with the partner regularly, and teams operate on a 10-week timeline. New projects only start at the beginning of a semester.

Does Codify maintain projects after they are built?

Yes. Codify actively maintains all past projects to keep them usable long-term and to encourage members to write clean, maintainable code with minimal technical debt.
