SASC is a student-run coalition at UC Berkeley, established in 2000, that brings together Southeast Asian students through mentorship, cultural programming, and community advocacy. Members run SEAM (high school mentorship), SEASO (orientation for incoming SEA students), Night Market, SEAGrad, and SEAsgiving. SASComm, the leadership structure, organizes across four branches: Internal, External, Operations, and PR. Most weeks involve about 5 hours of meetings and event prep.

SEASO 2026 (Southeast Asian Student Orientation)
Wednesday, September 3, 2026, 4:00-9:00 PM, Tilden Room. Orientation for first-year and transfer Southeast Asian students: dinner, workshops, SEA RSO intros, and small groups with current students.
Taste of Sea Night Market
Annual event at Lower Sproul Plaza featuring Southeast Asian culture, food, and performances from SEA RSOs, vendors, and performers. 2026 edition: April 6, 6:00-9:00 PM.
SEAGrad (Southeast Asian Graduation Ceremony)
Annual ceremony celebrating graduating Southeast Asian students with families and community members. 2026 edition: May 9, 6:00-8:00 PM, Alumni House. Cap and gown rental reimbursements available for eligible first-generation and low-income graduates while funds last.
Resume Workshop
Free resume and job-search workshop led by the PR Director. Attendees brought resumes for feedback on structure, bullet points, and what recruiters look for. 2026 edition: April 1, 6:00-7:00 PM, Wheeler 126.
History Workshops
Workshops on Southeast Asian community history, run as part of SASC's ongoing programming.
Member Experiences
SEA Community Picnic
Community hangout before finals at VLSB Lawn. Free catered food (Secrets of Tiger Thai Sensory), games, activities, and a raffle. 2026 edition: April 29, 5:00-7:00 PM.
SEAsgiving
Annual cooking and community gathering hosted with alumni.
Alumni Tailgate
Tailgate event where current members reconnect with alumni spanning more than 20 years of SASC history. 2026 edition held at the start of the year.
Wellness Nights
Internal program to support members during burnout periods, organized by the Internal Affairs branch.
