Do I have to be Filipino to join PALS?

No. PALS welcomes all individuals regardless of ethnic background.

What kinds of events does PALS put on?

Events take a variety of forms, including study halls, lumpia sale fundraisers, visits to judges' chambers, and cross-Bay Area programs with neighboring law schools.

Does PALS connect students with professionals outside Berkeley Law?

Yes. PALS has partnerships with the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California, the undergraduate pre-law community at UC Berkeley, and PALS chapters at various Bay Area law schools.

Is there an alumni network?

PALS is actively building its alumni database. Alums can contact pals@berkeley.edu to receive an alumni information-gathering form.

PALS is a student-led group at Berkeley Law that addresses the needs of law students of Pilipinx descent through mentorship, career advising, and social activities. Members build a tight-knit community while making Pilipinx leadership visible in the legal profession. Events range from study halls and lumpia sale fundraisers to visits to judges' chambers and cross-Bay Area programs with neighboring law schools. All students are welcome regardless of background.
