AAPIHRG brings together UC Berkeley students and Bay Area health professionals to conduct research on health issues facing AAPI communities. Each year's cohort of student researchers picks a topic, develops a methodology with mentorship from doctors and professors, and produces a research paper. Members also take or help facilitate ASAMST 190, a 4-unit course on AANHPI community health, and participate in service projects like bone marrow drives, voter registration, and the Minorities in Health Conference.

Multiple cohort members serve as AAPIHRG representatives to this conference each year.
ASAMST 190: Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Community Health
A 4-unit official course under the Asian American Studies Department, taught in the spring by Joe Lee, MSHA. AAPIHRG student coordinators serve as TAs and facilitators. The course features weekly guest speakers from local AANHPI community health organizations.

Cohort research presentations
At the end of the semester, student researchers present their completed research papers to fellow researchers and mentors. Presentations are evaluated in preparation for students to become facilitators the following spring.
