General membership is open to anyone, you just email the club to join. No application is required at that level.

What is the difference between being a general member, an intern, and a committee member?

General members get access to events, Slack, and networking. Interns assist a board member with events and tasks, which improves chances of joining the officer board. Committee members get more involved in board activities and can develop leadership skills useful for med or grad school applications.

Yes. Members can be matched with an upperclassmen mentor who provides advice on classes, internships, fellowships, and navigating a pre-health or public health path.

Is Team HBV at Berkeley part of a larger organization?

Yes. It is UC Berkeley's chapter of the national Team HBV network, which is the student outreach wing of the Asian Liver Center at Stanford University. The Asian Liver Center has partnered with the WHO and CDC on vaccination and education programs in the US and in Asian countries. Many Team HBV members from UC Berkeley have interned at the Asian Liver Center.
