CalTV produces a wide range of content across several departments: News segments and small business spotlights, Sports coverage, Entertainment pieces like documentaries and deep-dives into campus culture, and full Studios productions including short films and scripted series with original music and cinematography.

What makes CalTV different from a typical student club?

CalTV is an ASUC Chartered Program, one of only a few on-campus organizations considered to provide important services to all students. It also has unique access to prominent Berkeley community members and notable celebrities and public figures, having previously featured Kamala Harris, Will Smith, and Jonah Hill.

Alumni have gone on to work in Marketing, Entertainment, and Tech at organizations including Airbnb, Paramount Networks, Nickelodeon, Yelp, The White House, Google, Uber, PwC, TikTok, ABC7, NBC Universal, and CNET.

Yes. CalTV has a dedicated Get Featured form on its website for collaboration or feature requests from individuals and organizations outside the club.

When does CalTV recruit, and how does the process work?

Accepted Answer

CalTV recruits each semester. For Spring 2026, applications were due January 30th, interviews were held February 1st-4th by Department Directors, and decisions were announced by February 5th. Applications for Fall 2026 open in early Fall 2026.
