The ASUC is UC Berkeley's officially recognized student government, founded in 1887 and one of the largest, oldest, and most autonomous student associations in the country. It advocates for students at the university, local, state, and national level; controls funding for 1,247 student organizations; oversees commercial activities including the Cal Student Store; and runs services from basic needs to legal aid. Every UC Berkeley student is automatically a member and eligible for benefits.

ASUC General Elections
Annual campus-wide student government election. Voting open online via CalLink; physical polling stations placed around campus. 2026 election ran April 13–15, 2026.
ASUC Senate Weekly Meetings
Open to the public. Held Wednesdays 8:00pm–9:30pm. Livestreamed and recorded.
ABSA Info Session
Annual info session for student orgs applying for ASUC budget and space allocations. Hosted by OEVP, Spaces Director, and OCFO in ASUC Senate Chambers, 5th Floor, Eshleman Hall.
WSJ Student Editor Summit
The Wall Street Journal brings their Student Editor Summit to campus; students hear from and network with prominent WSJ reporters and editors. Part of ASUC's partnership with WSJ.
NYT Speaker Event
The New York Times pledges to bring at least one speaker per year in collaboration with ASUC-approved student organizations, as part of the ASUC/GA-NYT partnership.
