Telegraph for People is a student-led advocacy org fighting for safe and vibrant streets in Berkeley. Members attend City Council meetings, collect signatures, canvass, and run campaigns pushing to make Telegraph Avenue car-free near campus. The flagship goal is pedestrianizing 3 blocks of Telegraph (Haste to Bancroft) to create more space for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit. Commitment is flexible, and members can plug into events, design, or community engagement work.

TFP frequents City Council meetings to advocate for progressive policy. Members give public comment on issues like car-free Telegraph. A guide for first-timers on how to give public comment is provided.

Canvassing, Phone Banking, and Signature Collection
TFP organizes canvassing and phone banking efforts for endorsed candidates and ballot measures, and collects signatures for petitions like the Car-Free Telegraph sign-on.
