The Debate Society of Berkeley is UC Berkeley's largest and only internationally competitive debate organization, competing in British Parliamentary (BP) and American Parliamentary formats. Members practice argument construction, deliver impromptu speeches, and travel to tournaments regionally, nationally, and internationally, including the World Universities Debating Championship. New members without BP experience take a club-taught DeCal. The club also coaches local high school teams and runs two annual tournaments.
