Cal in the Capital prepares 55 UC Berkeley undergraduates annually to intern full-time in Washington, D.C. from early June through mid-August. Before the summer, students take a mandatory spring DeCal covering resume writing, cover letters, and D.C. work culture. The program does not place students in internships but connects them with opportunities at Congressional offices, federal agencies, think tanks, nonprofits, and media outlets. All interns live together at the UC Washington Center in Dupont Circle.
