The UC Rally Committee is the official guardian of Cal Spirit and Traditions, serving as ambassadors of UC Berkeley. Members cheer in the front row at football and basketball games, wave Cal Flags during runouts, sort and set up Card Stunts, protect the Stanford Axe, fire the California Victory Cannon, and organize major campus events like the annual Bonfire Rally and Homecoming. No application or interview is required, and there are no mandatory events.

Bonfire Rally
Annual rally held at the Greek Theatre every November, dating back to the early 1900s. Draws nearly 10,000 students.
Homecoming Rally
Annual Homecoming rally organized by the committee.
Cal Day Tabling
The committee tables and displays the California Victory Cannon for admitted students during Cal Day.
SF Pride Parade
Members march in the San Francisco Pride Parade alongside the Cal community.
Cal Football Home Games
Members cheer in the front row, wave Cal Flags during runouts, set up Card Stunts, and fire the California Victory Cannon.
Big Game (Cal vs. Stanford)
Members participate in runouts, cannon crew, and flag waving for the annual Big Game.
Cal History, Spirit, and Traditions DeCal
One-unit course (American Studies 98/198) open to all students. Fall 2026 meets Wednesdays 5-6 PM. Features guest speakers including professors and alumni.
Night Rallies
Evening rallies involving flag waving and Cal Spirit activities.
Big C Painting
Members help maintain the Big C on the Berkeley hillside by painting it yellow.
