The Berkeley Undergraduate Journal (BUJ), established in 1987, is the oldest undergraduate research journal at UC Berkeley. Undergraduate editors read, review, and select exemplary essays and research papers in the humanities and social sciences, then edit and publish accepted work on the UC's eScholarship platform. Members gain hands-on training in editing and publishing, make real editorial decisions about which papers get published, and can advance into leadership roles like Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor.
