CALICO Informatics Competition

CALICO is a biannual high-school programming competition created and run by UC Berkeley students. Members write original contest problems, maintain the judging infrastructure, handle logistics, and design artwork for each contest. The competition runs online every fall and spring, with an in-person component on campus, and challenges teams of up to three pre-college students across difficulty levels from beginner-friendly to algorithm-mastery. Joining means building problems rather than just solving them.

CALICO Spring '26
Biannual high-school programming competition held April 11, 2026. Online contest runs 4:00-7:00 PM PT. An in-person contest is held simultaneously on the UC Berkeley campus. Teams of up to 3 compete on 6-12 problems over 3 hours. Open to all, but only pre-college teams are eligible for prizes.
