Who is this program designed for?

Casa Joaquin Murrieta is designed for full-time UC Berkeley undergraduates who are low- or moderate-income, first-generation college students passionate about advancing racial equity. Undocumented students are explicitly welcomed.

What does the residency actually include?

Residents receive affordable housing and an all-inclusive meal plan, mentorship through Greenlining's Leadership Academy, academic support, connections to on-campus resources, and career and educational guidance.

How do I apply, and when is the deadline?

Applications are submitted online through Formstack on a rolling basis. The current deadline is March 27th, 2026. Paper applications and emailed or faxed submissions are not accepted.

Casa Joaquin Murrieta is a program of the Greenlining Institute's Leadership Academy. Residents receive mentorship and leadership development through that broader academy structure, which focuses on racial and economic equity advocacy.
