What does being a CP member organization actually get you?

Member orgs receive a yearly grant ($200-$5,000), access to PSC advising services and administrative resources, leadership and social justice training, and the ability to network and collaborate with other service groups on campus.

What are the ongoing requirements for member organizations?

Leadership must attend two all-day PSC events (a Student Leaders in Service Orientation in late August and a Student Leaders Retreat in January), two 30-minute advising sessions per semester, monthly centerwide trainings, and submit a mid-year and end-of-year grant report.

Who decides which organizations get funding?

A CP Advisory Committee made up of members from the ASUC, the Public Service Center, the LEAD Center, and a past CP organization leader oversees the selection process and decides how grants are allocated.

Is Community Projects open to individual student volunteers?

CP itself is an umbrella organization for student groups, not a direct-membership club. Students interested in volunteering should contact individual CP member organizations directly.

What kinds of organizations are part of the CP coalition?

The 16 current member orgs span a wide range of service areas, including engineering mentorship (BEAM), street medicine (USMO), housing (Cal Habitat for Humanity, SHAC), tutoring and academic coaching (OASES, ACE Coaches), prison education (Teach in Prison), and more.
