Critical Consciousness Collective (CCC) is a mezzo-level social work practice group for MSW students, cultivating community through radical collective learning. Members participate in a Radical Book Club covering abolition, queer theory, and anti-racism; Peer Power Partners, a peer mentoring program pairing 1st and 2nd year students; Crafty Critter Collabs for shared art creation; and community building events and mutual aid fundraisers rooted in anti-oppressive values.

Events They Host
Gaza Mutual Aid Fundraiser
Sale of screen-printed tote bags with 100% of proceeds going to the PAL Humanity Initiative for medical and mutual aid to families in Gaza. Limited run of 20 bags. Raised $330 as of 11/12/24.
Radical Book Club
Held during Summer and Winter breaks. Open to alumni and extended community members. Summer 2026 edition planned around 'Freedom is a Constant Struggle.'

12-2 Union Community Outings
Spring 2024 events included: 1st Year MFA Exhibit (Feb. 2), Board Games at Free Speech Café (Feb. 16), Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Art Archive (Mar. 1), Campanile Tour (Mar. 8), Tie Dye at Nathan Grove (Mar. 15), UC Berkeley Botanical Garden (Apr. 5).
MSW Rock Climbing
Co-hosted with Mindful Masters.
Crafty Critter Collabs
Shared art creation sessions for members as a bonding activity.
Peer Power Partners Mentoring
Ongoing pairing of 1st and 2nd year MSW students for peer-to-peer mentorship throughout the academic year.
