Who does this club serve, and who runs it?

The conference is designed for 5th-8th grade girls, trans youth, and gender non-conforming and non-binary youth from local school districts. It is organized by UC Berkeley grad students, postdocs, and staff.

How much does it cost to attend the conference?

The conference is free to all attendees. For those who are able, there is an optional $25 registration fee or donation. Students choose what they can pay.

What kinds of workshops does the conference feature?

Workshops are hands-on and taught by scientists, engineers, and other professionals. Past examples include extracting DNA from a strawberry, aligning lasers to image brain slices, building miniature levees to model water treatment, and coding an interactive animation.

How can I get involved as a Berkeley student or volunteer?

Workshop leaders are recruited in late November or early December each year. Volunteers are also needed to chaperone small groups of students between activities on the day of the event. Email info@eyh.studentorg.berkeley.edu to express interest.
