Gamma Zeta Alpha is a Latino interest fraternity with a chapter at UC Berkeley, founded nationally in 1987 and established at Berkeley in 1992. The fraternity is built on three principles: Academic Excellence, Community Service, and the Maintenance of Latino Culture through Brotherhood. Members participate in community service initiatives like Academic Decathlon volunteering, campus programming, and advocacy campaigns. Joining means access to alumni networking, leadership development, and a statewide brotherhood across multiple campuses.

Events They Host
Gammas Softball Classic
Annual inter-chapter softball tournament. The 3rd annual edition in 2012 took place at Big Leagues Dreams Sports Park in West Covina, CA, with chapters from Chico State to San Diego competing.
GZAGA National Golf Tournament
Annual national golf tournament organized by the GZA Alumni Association. The 2012 edition was held at California Country Club in Whittier, CA, on September 14, 2012.
2026 GZA National Conference
National conference held at California State University, Chico on Saturday, March 14, 8:30 AM to 4 PM.
California State Academic Decathlon volunteering
Brothers serve as speech and interview judges and Super Quiz proctors at regional and state Academic Decathlon competitions annually. In 2012, 266 brothers logged over 1,500 hours of service across regional locations including North Bay, Contra Costa, Ventura, San Joaquin, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Sacramento.
AIDS Walk
The fraternity has participated in AIDS Walk annually, with participation noted for at least 7 consecutive years as of 2012.
Denim Day
The fraternity participates in Denim Day on the last Wednesday of April (Sexual Assault Awareness Month) in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence, alongside Alpha Psi Lambda and Lambda Upsilon Lambda.

Leadership Summit
A daylong national event for chapter officers and new members covering officer training, chapter improvement roundtables, national policy review, and 1-on-1 networking. The 2012 edition was held at USC.
25-Year Anniversary Gala
Every five years, the National Board of Directors hosts a special anniversary gala to honor individuals and chapters that have exemplified leadership, service, scholarship, and unity. The 25-year gala was held in San Francisco, April 5-7, 2013.
Tequila Tasting and Weekend Events (tied to Golf Tournament)
In 2012, the weekend around the National Golf Tournament included a pre-Mexican Independence Day tequila tasting event hosted by the UCLA Alumni Association chapter, and a Torneo de Charros at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena.
