NPHC is the umbrella council for nine historically African-American fraternities and sororities at UC Berkeley, chartered in 1985. It brings Black Greek Letter Organizations together to promote unity, share ideas, and pursue their shared ultimate mission of public service. Each member chapter runs its own intake process, which can include informational meetings, applications, interviews, and an educational period, with GPA and academic credit requirements set by each organization.
