Events They Host
Annual Youth Symposium
Held simultaneously on the second Saturday of March by alumnae chapters across the nation during Sigma Week. A one-day, nationwide symposium addressing issues that negatively impact youth including drugs, teen violence, abuse, low self-esteem, suicide, teen pregnancy, and human trafficking. Supported by undergraduate chapters and affiliates.
Swim 1922
Water safety and swimming programs conducted in partnership with USA Swimming, held during May through August of the sorority year. Olympians and members teach community members about water safety and swimming, targeting African American and Hispanic youth.
Operation BigBookBag back-to-school supply giveaway
School supply collection and donation drive for educationally at-risk children, those in homeless shelters, and extended-care hospitals. The back-to-school giveaway is held every August and January; programs can be held year-round.
Project CRADLE Care community outreach
Community outreach, advocacy, education, and implicit bias training focused on Black maternal and infant health disparities, conducted in collaboration with the March of Dimes.
Women's Wellness Initiative programs
Chapter-level programs focused on health issues affecting women of color, including breast cancer awareness, domestic violence, heart health, diabetes, and mental health. Can be conducted at any time during the sorority year.
Biennial Boule
The sorority's major national convention held every two years. Includes organizational business, officer elections, and the Honorary Membership Ceremony (Sinduction). The 61st Biennial Boule was held in Tampa, Florida in July 2026.
