Golden Records is Berkeley's premier music production and industry club, described as a microcosm of the music industry. Members span marketing, A&R, media, music production, audio engineering, and DJing. Regular Beat Battles have producers submit original tracks around a biweekly theme, with the best work released on compilation albums. The club also runs The Tunnel, a flagship rave event featuring student DJs, and hosts live band nights and industry Q&A panels. All skill levels are welcome.

The Tunnel
Flagship rave event held each semester at Stebbins Hall (2527 Ridge Rd, Berkeley). Features student DJs performing underground and electronic music. Draws around 200 attendees. General admission tickets priced around $12.
Band Nights
Live music shows featuring local artists performing electronic and instrumental music. Regular attendance over 150. Most shows are charity events, with past proceeds benefiting organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

PKS X GR PRESENTS: BASER'S BDAY BASH
Co-produced show with PKS. Proceeds donated to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Featured multiple live acts.
PROJECT SLEAZE
Live music event. Featured multiple artists including CHRONOLECT, R3VER1E, YASH! DENIMONTARO, and others.
Music Production DeCal
A 14-week class taught by experienced GR producers covering music production from a math-oriented signal processing perspective. All students submit final projects. Interest form drew ~100 signups.
Member Experiences
Beat Battles
Biweekly meetings where members produce and submit original tracks around a theme. Around 20 submissions per battle. Best tracks are selected for compilation album releases at year's end. Held at The Metropolitan, 2301 Durant Ave, Berkeley.
EMPIRE / She's Write Camp
Partnership with EMPIRE in San Francisco bringing 20-30 female-identifying members to the EMPIRE studio for workshops with industry professionals covering technical, business, and marketing sides of the music industry.
