The Music Connection (TMC) pairs UC Berkeley students with young musicians in the Berkeley and Oakland Unified School Districts for free, weekly private lessons and in-class tutoring at local elementary schools. Tutors teach instruments like piano, guitar, violin, and vocals in one-on-one settings, typically at the student's home. No prior teaching experience is required. TMC hosts tutor training workshops, an end-of-semester recital, and a public Instrument Petting Zoo each semester.
