Project Lux is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit with chapters at UC Berkeley and other universities, dedicated to expanding healthcare access for unhoused and underserved communities. Members work as Navigators helping clients enroll in Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and Cash Aid at enrollment fairs and through the remote Beacon service. Day-to-day work includes attending enrollment fairs, onboarding training, community advocacy, and producing research and policy content through the Knowledge Hub.

Events They Host
Enrollment Fairs
In-person events at shelters and community organizations where Navigators assist clients with health insurance and public benefits enrollment. The UCLA chapter completed 8 such fairs in one fall quarter, including a partnership with Skid Row Refresh.
Servocacy Fest
An advocacy fair highlighting student organizations engaged in service and social justice. Project Lux ran an interactive activity addressing misconceptions about unhoused communities.
Presentations at New LA Middle School
Educational presentations covering topics including anger management, mindfulness, health literacy, alcoholism, and peer pressure, delivered to students at a local charter school.
