Golden Gate Science Olympiad (GGSO) is a joint UC Berkeley and Stanford student organization that plans and runs an annual Division C Science Olympiad invitational, billed as the premier west-coast invitational. Berkeley members write and proctor events, serve on the executive board, and manage logistics for a tournament that draws over 50 teams and 1,000+ participants. The club also runs outreach programs to start new high school Science Olympiad teams in underserved Bay Area communities. All members must have prior Science Olympiad experience.

Golden Gate Science Olympiad Invitational
Annual Division C Science Olympiad invitational for high school teams, featuring all 23 national events written and run by Science Olympiad alumni. Draws over 50 teams and 1,000+ participants. Held alternately at UC Berkeley and Stanford. The 2026 tournament was the tenth annual, held January 31, 2026 at Stanford.
Bay Area Urban Schools Initiative (BAUSI) Mini-Tournament
A 10-event mini-tournament held at the same location and date as the main GGSO tournament, free of charge for schools registered in the BAUSI program. Aimed at new Science Olympiad teams from underserved Bay Area communities.
