TASSEL (Teaching and Sharing Skills to Enrich Lives) is the UC Berkeley chapter of a nonprofit that serves rural Cambodians through free English education, food aid, medical support, and family sponsorships. Members teach English remotely over video conference from December through April, covering phonics, reading, writing, and conversation. They also fundraise year-round and spread awareness on campus. Qualified members can join a 10-day summer service trip to Cambodia to teach in person and visit families.

NY Chapter Concert Fundraiser
The New York TASSEL chapter held a concert fundraising event on Saturday August 24th, not long after returning from their Cambodia mission trip. Chapters across TASSEL organize similar fundraising events.
Member Experiences
Summer Service Trip to Cambodia
A 10-day trip to Battambang, Cambodia, open to members who have taught remotely. Nine of ten days are spent on service: in-person teaching, family visits, food and medicine distribution, and teacher training. The final day includes limited sightseeing.
