ANS Berkeley is the UC Berkeley student branch of the national American Nuclear Society, open to students of all backgrounds with the only requirements being a desire to learn and an open mind for new technology. Members attend biweekly general meetings featuring industry speakers, go on facility tours, participate in peer tutoring and study jams, and do public outreach to promote nuclear science on campus and in the community. The club calls itself a 'nuclear family' and has a noticeably casual, tight-knit social culture.
