Cal Japan Club (CJC), established in 1994, fosters a community for anyone who feels a connection to Japan, whether they are Japanese, Japanese American, or simply interested in the language and culture. Members attend regular social events like takoyaki nights, karaoke, and seasonal parties, and can access career events with Japanese companies across consulting, trading, and tech. A paid General Membership unlocks restaurant discounts, event ticket deals, and exclusive company dinner invites.

Bay Area Exchange
Annual networking event for Bay Area residents to connect with the Japanese community, explore career paths, and expand professional and personal networks. Spring 2026 edition held April 4, 2026, 11AM-2PM at Clark Kerr Garden Room.
EAU East Asian Night Market
CJC runs a food booth at the East Asian Union Night Market at Lower Sproul. Sold fruit sandos and matcha in Spring 2025; sold udon and matcha in Fall 2025 (November 17, 2025, 5-9PM).
Japanese Culture Classroom
Open cultural event where attendees play Karuta and other Japanese games while enjoying snacks. No RSVP required. November 4, 2024, 3-5PM, Dwinelle Hall Room B4.
Ghibli Movie Night Fundraiser with Boba
Public fundraiser screening Studio Ghibli films with boba from Teaspoon Berkeley. Tickets $10 per drink, all proceeds support CJC activities. December 5, 2024, 7-9PM, SOCS66.
