HKSA champions the culturally rich blend of traditional Cantonese legacy and fast-paced modernity, building an intimate Cantonese community on campus. Members attend events like BBQ socials, yum cha outings, karaoke nights, Chinese New Year parties, detective games, and a semi-annual Karaoke Contest. The club also collaborates with the East Asian Union on events like the Night Market. Membership is not required to attend events, but members get a monthly newsletter, career opportunities, and discounts at local businesses.

Semi-Annual Karaoke Contest (K-Con)
A signature event held every semester. Competitors sing in multiple rounds judged by a panel with audience voting. Includes an officer-performed skit. By Fall 2014 the contest had reached its 35th edition.
EAU Night Market
Organized by the East Asian Union; HKSA participates alongside other member clubs including Chinese Student Association and Taiwanese Student Association.
HKSA Career Booth
First-ever career booth hosted by HKSA in Spring 2021. Featured representatives from L'Oreal, Lalamove, and RGF (Rising Glory Finance) sharing job opportunities. Held via Zoom on March 18, 2021.
HKSA Mix & Match
A networking cocktail-style event open to students from many universities, not just Cal. Held via Zoom on March 12, 2021.
Chinese New Year Celebration
Annual Lunar New Year celebration. Spring 2021 event celebrated the Year of the Ox via Zoom on February 12, 2021.
Joint School Volunteering
Past event co-organized with Stanford's HKSA. Members volunteered at Oakland Zoo doing groundskeeping, then visited Oakland Chinatown for dim sum.

Yum Cha Social
Group dim sum outing. Fall 2021 edition required registration via Google Form.
BBQ / Oyster Farm Trip
Recurring outdoor event combining a trip to an oyster farm (Tomales Bay) with a BBQ. Members shuck and eat fresh oysters alongside grilled food.
K-Night
Casual karaoke outing at a local karaoke venue (distinct from the competitive K-Con). Members book multiple rooms and sing together for a couple of hours.
Game Night
Recurring social featuring mahjong tournaments, board games (Jenga, Monopoly Deal, Uno, 三國殺), and other group games, sometimes with cash prizes.
Halloween Party
Annual Halloween-themed social for members.
Valentine's Day Event
Speed-dating style social with games and activities for members to meet new people around Valentine's Day.
Senior Banquet
End-of-year dinner event to celebrate graduating members, with games and group photos.
Two-Day Trip and Water Rafting
Multi-day overnight trip for members. Spring 2015 edition included water rafting.
Theme Park Social
Group trip to a theme park. Past editions include Great America (Halloween theme) and Six Flags.

Elaborate themed game event organized each semester by incoming interns as their debut event for the club community.
