Who is eligible to join Chi Epsilon?

Undergraduate students must be in the upper one-third of their class in the CEE program, have at least junior or senior standing, and have completed at least half of the civil engineering curriculum including CE 60 and CE C30. Graduate students must have completed at least half of one academic year in the CEE graduate program and be nominated by a current member, endorsed by the faculty advisor, and approved by three-quarters of voting members.

How does someone get invited to join?

The Faculty Advisor identifies eligible students based on academic performance and invites them to an introductory meeting. Students who proceed must be approved by current Chapter Officers and then complete a pledge program before being initiated as full members. Look out for a formal invitation at the beginning of the fall or spring semester.

What academic resources does XE provide to the broader CEE community?

XE maintains a library of past exams, syllabi, and digital textbooks for core CEE courses (including CE 11, 60, 70, C30, 93, 100, 120, 122, 123, 126, and more) that any CEE student can access through the student resources section of the website.

Is XE purely academic, or is there a social side?

Sociability is one of Chi Epsilon's four official pillars. Members bond through social events like karaoke nights, networking events with alumni and faculty, and the pledge process itself, which current members frequently describe as a highlight of their experience in the chapter.
