HKN is the national Electrical and Computer Engineering honor society, and Berkeley's Mu Chapter is one of the most active chapters in the country. Members run free drop-in tutoring for EE and CS courses, maintain a large archive of past exams, conduct department-wide course surveys, and organize STEM outreach events for local K-12 students. Membership is by invitation only, extended to top-ranked juniors and seniors in EECS. Officers also host company info sessions and an annual EECS Career Fair, the largest technical career fair on campus.

Events They Host
EECS Career Fair
The largest technical career fair on the Berkeley campus, targeting Engineering and CS students. Approximately 650 students attend. Annual event.
Company Info Sessions
HKN organizes recruiting presentations where companies present to EECS students, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday after 6pm in Soda Hall. Companies contribute a standard donation of $800 (tax-deductible).
EECS Day
Annual fall open house for prospective high school students and parents. Includes department tour, hands-on EECS workshops, faculty speaker, and student panel.
Junior EECS Day
Annual spring event for grades 5-8 and families. Includes CS and EE labs, campus tour, and robotics competition viewing. Annual, Spring Semester.
BearHacks
Day-long hackathon for high school students, especially those with limited EECS experience. Includes a project showcase and awards ceremony. Annual, Fall Semester.
Maker Workshops
Series of weekend-afternoon workshops open to all current high school students, covering topics like 3D modeling/printing, computer vision, microcontrollers, and IoT devices.
Cal Day Workshops
Drop-in introductory EECS workshops held during UC Berkeley's annual public open house. Past projects included a programmable LED array and a blinking LED circuit. Annual, Spring Semester.
HKN Grad School Panel
Panel event for students interested in graduate school. Past event held April 11, 2019 in HP Auditorium.
Exam Review Sessions
Review sessions for lower-division EECS courses held before midterms and finals. Schedule posted on the HKN academic calendar.
Capture the Flag with TBP
Joint event with Tau Beta Pi held at Memorial Glade. Past event October 16, 2019.
Department Tours
Weekly tours of the EECS department offered in Fall and Spring semesters, up to 1 hour long. Includes a virtual or in-person option and a Q&A session. Open to prospective students, high schoolers, community college students, and others.

End of Semester Slideshow
Each semester, the Bridge committee puts together a photo and video montage of the semester's highlights.
Officer Hangout
Social activity for officers. Past example: 'Make a Plushie!' held April 11, 2019 in Cory 521.
RSF Workouts
Member fitness events at the RSF. Past examples include arms and abs sessions in April 2019.
Game of Thrones Watch Party
Member social event. Past event held April 14, 2019 in HP Auditorium.
Internship Application Jam Session
Professional development event for members. Held October 8, 2025 in Wozniak Lounge, Soda Hall.
