Combat Robotics at Berkeley is an entirely student-run organization that started with a singular obsession: building our 250lb BattleBot, Glitch. Today, we have grown into a thriving community of over 80 members and growing. CRB is a place where you can pour your competitive nature into robotics, develop hands-on engineering skills, and find a tight-knit group of friends. Combat robotics is an ever evolving sport that makes it immune to the "meta" problem in many other robotics competition which keeps every competition fresh and unique. No Experience Required We have a major focus on education, making this club accessible to everyone—even if you aren’t an engineering major. While prior experience with CAD or basic electrical knowledge is useful, it is absolutely not required since we teach you everything from scratch. New members have the opportunity to design 1lb PLANT class robots from the ground up in small teams, before moving on to work on 3lb bots and our 30lb combat robot, Malware. Whether you want to get your hands dirty machining hardware or help manage our business and marketing, there is a place for you to learn. High-Impact Competition We are one of the most active design teams on campus. Last term alone, our teams: Built over 20 unique robots across multiple weight classes. Attended 5 competitions. Hosted the Berkeley Bot Bash, our own termly competition where we go head-to-head with other colleges and local builders. CRB is a sponsored organization under the ASUC and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
