Foresight is a pre-optometry club open to anyone interested in pursuing optometry. Members attend optometry school presentations, OAT prep workshops, application strategy sessions, and social events. Paid members gain access to a mentorship program pairing them with first-year UC Berkeley School of Optometry students, test bank access, OAT booster discounts, and an opportunities board listing openings at private offices, research labs, and clinics.

Events They Host
Fall Conference
Co-planned annually with UCBSO (UC Berkeley School of Optometry). Covers the optometry school application process, including presentations and workshops for prospective applicants.
Spring Conference
Focused on building soft and interpersonal skills for applicants. Past programming included mock MMI interviews with current UCBSO students, personality assessments, confidence and communication workshops, and professional development sessions. Business casual attire; past registration fee was $5.
Optometry School Presentations
Presentations led by representatives from various optometry schools, giving members insight into admissions and school culture.
OAT Prep Workshops
Detailed workshops on the application process and strategies for tackling the OAT (Optometry Admission Test).

Mentor-Mentee Bonding Events
Foresight organizes events throughout the year specifically geared toward mentor-mentee bonding for members participating in the mentorship program.
Pre-Clinic Shadowing
Mentors invite their mentees to shadow them in pre-clinic at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, providing exposure to first-year coursework and lab equipment.
Semester-End Banquet
End-of-semester gathering where active members are recognized, including Member of the Semester and Member of the Month awards.
