No. The club welcomes students from various disciplines. There is a Business sub-team that handles sponsorships, supplier sourcing, and promotional material alongside the technical tracks.

What are the four sub-teams and what does each one do?

Business handles sponsor outreach, supplier deals, and promotional material. Mechanical designs the chassis, suspension, and steering components using SolidWorks and does all fabrication in-house. Electrical designs the CAN bus data system, driver displays, and controls. Dynamics handles aerodynamics using CFD software provided by Cadence and builds the composite motorcycle body.

Is the team funded by the university?

The team is almost entirely funded by external sponsors who provide cash, products, or discounts. Cadence Design Systems gave the team its first major donation, which allowed them to register for the MotoStudent competition.

The team competes in the MotoStudent International Competition, a global motorsport engineering contest where student teams design, build, and race motorcycles.

Yes. All fabrication is done in-house, including welding the chassis, machining components like the triple-clamp, and laying up carbon fiber fairings using molds made from foam donated by sponsors.
