Vertical Farming at Berkeley (VFB) is UC Berkeley's only vertical farming research group, organized into three divisions: Engineering, Organics, and Business. Engineering members design hydroponic systems and build autonomous robotics with machine learning. Organics members run independent plant science experiments in actual functional farms across four Bay Area locations. Business members secure grants, sponsorships, and industry partnerships. Members work on real projects in collaboration with USDA researchers and companies.
