Labor Coach Program
Pre-Health·Community Service/Nonprofit·Health/Wellness
Labor Coaches build personal relationships with limited English proficiency patients — primarily Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese speakers — during the last month of pregnancy and through childbirth at a hospital OB-GYN unit. Members are on-call for their patients and work alongside OB-GYN staff. It's a hands-on, emotionally meaningful role for students with multilingual skills who want real clinical exposure and to reduce stress for first-time mothers giving birth in the US.
